Refined Second Shooter Workshop Recap | October 2018
You guys, all I feel when I think about the Refined Second Shooter workshop is gratitude! While I’ve attended workshops and styled shoots in the past, I never actually thought I’d host one! Kelsie and I started dreaming of the Refined Second Shooter workshop early this year, and it was a total first for us… we had no idea if anyone would sign up, or if we would be even able to pull it off. A workshop is funny like that… you can prepare for days, weeks, months, but if no one shows up to participate then you’re out of luck! Thankfully, the exact opposite happened. We had a thirteen amazing attendees who chose to invest their hard-earned money and time into this experience, not to mention amazing vendors working behind the scenes to make the first ever Refined Second Shooter Workshop a reality. We’ve been keeping most of the images under wraps until now… but it’s time to share!!!
While the Refined Second Shooter workshop was primarily focused on education, we wanted to host a stunning styled shoot for our workshop attendees to practice the skills we reviewed! Kelsie and I decided on a Kate Spade inspired theme- black and white with pops of color, and we absolutely LOVE how it turned out! Enjoy some of my favorite images we captured, and if you keep scrolling long enough, you’ll see all the behind the scenes. It was an amazing day and we have SO much planned for the Refined Second Shooter in the future!

I want to give a shoutout to our amazing friend and boss babe Anna Markley! Since Kelsie and I spent most of the day educating, we had limited time to shoot and practically ZERO time to make sure the day ran smoothly! Enter Anna. She did practically everything on workshop day… last minute Kroger runs, preparing the snacks and dinner, helping our model Hanna into the wedding gown, and just making sure we had everything we needed. She is also an amazing photographer and took behind the scenes photos that you’ll see at the end of this post, PLUS she took more images of the styled shoot portion of the workshop to give us an even larger number of photos to share with our vendor partners! Plus, let’s be honest, we all love looking at the photos too ;) I edited these next few but the talent is all Anna! We love her!
And now for the reallyyy fun stuff… behind the scenes!!! It’s one thing to see the pretty stylized images, but another to see how it all went down :)
P.S. Can you find Kelsie in the third image down?? ;)
